Here are just a few random pictures I wanted to share. First Taylor has is two front teeth and even though there are just two we need to start brushing them. So, here he is brushing his teeth while mommy was brushing hers. He was just too cute with this Big Bird toothbrush!

Does my son know how to brush his teeth or what? He even has the right end in his mouth.

These next couple pictures were from my parents house. The boys were enjoying the "sit-n-spin". Remember those from when we were kids. I think my mom found it at a garage sale and couldn't resist.

By the looks on the boys faces, I don't think they were to sure about this toy. But they are cute anyways.

Father's Day at the Zoo

What a beautiful day! Today was Taylor's first day at the zoo and on Father's Day. We started the day by meeting my parents, Ryan, Sam and Nathan for breakfast. We, being Trietschs (well most of us) needed to get our bellies full for a fun day at the zoo. The boys were great and the sun was out! Here are some pictures of the animals!

Taylor strapped in for the ride!
Taylor and daddy playing the bongo drums.

New at the zoo in the African Journey--Lions!!

Pelicans
Taylor feeding the giraffe

Nathan feeding the giraffe

All the boys!!

Taylor riding the big turtle

And finally the goats. I like going to see the goats because you can actually touch them. But one of those darn things started to eat my pants, so Jason had to come over and get my pants out of his mouth.

Nathan and Taylor with the goats.
It was a fun day but exhausting day too. Taylor was asleep in the car by the time we got out to the road. And from there he took a 3 hour nap. Boy he was a trooper at the zoo though! Jason had a wonderful first Father's Day with Taylor!!

February and March '09!!

Well, where do I begin. We haven't posted in awhile so I will try to bring you up to speed. Taylor is keeping us very busy and we are loving every minute of it. He is 7 months now and growing and growing. To be honest he is growing but he is still my "little peanut." Of course what do you expect when his parents aren't very tall either. He is eating all kinds of fruits and veggies and seems to like all of them! This picture here is what he sits in when we feed him is food. For those of you who don't know what he is sitting in it is called a Bumbo. He likes it but his legs are almost getting too fat to fit in it! (I just love fat little chunky legs.)

Valentine's Day has come and gone and although we didn't do much my mom got him this cute little outfit. It is a little hard to read: My heart belongs to mommy. I absolutely love his smile in this picture. Isn't he cute!!!!!

Grammie got both Taylor and cousin Nathan the same outfit. So, at church we got them together to snap a few pictures of them matching. Plus, grammie and grampie were in Cali so they didn't even get to see the boys all dressed up. Remember Nathan is almost 2 months younger than Taylor but they look about the same size in this picture. We can't wait until they can start talking and running around together!!!!!!

I had to post these next couple pictures because he got this adorable outfit from Jason's best friend (The Swopes) who live in Phoenix. We don't get to see them much so I wanted to show them how cute he is. He wasn't sure at first with the hood up- I think he looks like a little gangster.

But he is all smiles with the hood down!!!

Taylor LOVES bathtime! He has never cried or fought me when it comes to getting a bath. I am fortunate for that. And I think he has reached another small milestone. He has out grown his first bathtub. As you can tell he is head to toe in his tub. But he doesn't care he is just having fun. There were others pictures I could have posted but it showed too much of his goods.

Love your leg Taylor!!!

As you can see Taylor is doing great!! Jason and I don't know what we would ever have done without him. I tell Jason all the time that we must have been boring people before him. Everything we do now is for him. But that comes with parenthood. Hopefully the next time we post I will have some cute Easter pictures to share.

Taylor and Cousin Nathan's Dedication!

Happy end of January '09 all! Hope all you "out of towners" are enjoying your warm weather-us hoosiers are still not getting out of the 20's!! Gotta love the snow though.

Well, this past Saturday night was a monumentous occasion at Pathway Community Church. Taylor and his cousin Nathan were dedicated in front of family, friends, and the church body. It was special that Taylor and Nathan were dedicated at the same time considering in the past the church has always done each child individually. Both boys did really well up on stage and Taylor couldn't keep his eyes off Pastor Ron! This picture below shows Ryan, Samantha, Nathan, Heather, Taylor, and I all up on stage with Pastor Ron:

This picture was taken after the dedication at Dave and Aleta's house where everyone that attended the dedication was greeted with a wonderful dinner and great conversation. We just love this Norwegian sweater that Taylor got from his great Uncle Eric!

And lastly, this picture below is of Pappa and Taylor with his hood up at Dave and Aleta's house. I think Pappa Ken likes his grandson just a tad!!
Heather and I again want to thank everyone who was able to attend. We also want to let all family and friends that were not able to make it know that we kept you all in our hearts during this special occasion and can't wait to see you all sometime in '09!!

On another note, I want everyone to not take life for granted, and to live everyday as if it was your last. The reason this is on my heart is that within the last month, at Shambaugh, two co-workers have had some terrible health problems creep into their families. I know that God has a plan for all of us, and at his own will, he may feel that anyone of our times have come to join him for eternal life. Take this thought and know that he wants us to be loyal servants and get the word out about how wonderful it is to have him in each one of our lives-teaching us, guiding us through life's ups and downs. And one of my favorite verses and Dave's all time favorite verse that you can hold close to is out of the book of Jeremiah, 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"... now lets go out and live life to the fullest!!

Five Generation Picture!!

On December 14, at Warren Methodist Home in Warren, IN, we were able to get our exciting five generation picture taken!! This picture means a lot to each one of us in the picture and we are all so blessed to have a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Miriam Rice! In the picture is Great Grandma Rice, Grandma Jackson, Mom, Me, and Taylor!!
Along with us this day was "Pastor" Conner who entrigued all of us with his telling of the story of Jesus' travels after leaving Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph!! What a wonderful Nephew!!

A picture of all of us listening intently to Conners' story...

Thanks to all of the family that made the trip to Warren with us-it was a day we will never forget!
